The Artist behind Ravenna Relics, Althea Rizzo
Hello, and thanks for stopping by to learn more about this small shop. I have always loved history. I enjoy spending time reading and learning about how other people lived, loved, died and left a lasting legacy in the long ago.
My paintings and designs evoke the spirit of these ancient artists. Using modern digital collage methods, I put my watercolor and gouache paintings onto apparel, ceramic mug, and canvas totes. Once the artwork is digitized, I can print the design onto fabric and make useful handmade objects like pincushions and needle books.
There is something heart warming about knowing that people want to wear art that I created. It brightens my day and makes me very happy. So, please drop me a line on Facebook or on Instagram to let me know what you think. Do you have a favorite time from history? Let me know and maybe I’ll paint up something from that time or culture for a future line of designs.
The Ravenna Relics Blog
Join us over on our blog to see posts on upcoming designs and artwork updates. We will be sharing recipes, free downloads, and great information on how to make Ravenna Relics a part of your life, your décor, and your journey.
Let’s be the change
With so much pain and suffering in the world, I want my art to be a force for change. We will donate 10% of our profits in 2017 to four charities: Planned Parenthood, the Malala Fund, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and the Safe Horse Rescue.
And please feel free to drop by their websites and give them some love, and perhaps a donation.
